Bombs, Ruins and Honey
Journeys of the Spirit with Sudanese ChristiansLife is constantly challenging and transforming us, through experiences of joy and grief, of achievement and failure, in friendship and conflict, in moments of intense community as well as times of alienation. And when life is lived as an active witness to "the life of God" then these experiences gain a wider significance, even in the most desperate of circumstances.
'Bombs, Ruins and Honey' picks up themes of one such life: "the violence and the fear of the present, the shadow of the past, and somehow, the delight, the richness and the celebration which somehow survived and even thrived."
This is not an autobiography, but a selection of a missioner's experiences in a life lived in cross-cultural Christian mission witnessing to the life of God. It is written with a distinct concern to share lessons learnt, that these may be "of benefit to those on a similar journey of cross-cultural Christian mission, those Christians in business, aid or government work who see their work as a calling from God."
