Voices from Africa
Transforming mission in a context of marginalization: An anthology'Voices from Africa' seeks to engage with and learn from the experiences of the African Churches.
It is written entirely by Africans, including several Archbishops, who seek to reflect, from their vantage point, on what transforming mission looks like when undertaken in a context of marginalization and in the light of long-term crises such as HIV/AIDS and the new focus on Christian-Muslim relations following the September 11th tragedy.
It is a book that challenges us to explore our own understanding of mission in the light of what we hear from Africa.
"There are no tentative voices; there is no distance between them and the reality they describe; they say 'this is life; this is death; this is suffering; this is hope; be involved'." John Sentamu, Archbishop of York
