Not a Gap Year but a Lifetime
'It is my prayer that many young people today will read this book and recognize and respond to Christ's call to them. As they do so, they will experience not a life of ease, but they will discover that inner joy and richness of life which is the Lord's unique gift to those who hand him their future.' Archbishop John Sentamu
This is a story about two doctors, Dr Leonard Sharp and Dr Algernon Stanley Smith, who heard God's call to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who had never heard of him. They felt drawn to East Africa, but that was all; so they set off in faith, not knowing where they should go, and they took the first step by going to Uganda. They did not know what this would involve or how many difficulties would come their way.
Dr Len and Dr Algie were convinced that medical work was the most effective way to reach out to people who had never heard of the love of God in Jesus Christ; they always had prayers and Bible teaching in the hospitals they founded.
None of the work would have been possible without prayerful, interested and faithful church supporters back in England.
