Celebrating the centenary of the Episcopal Church of Sudan, 1899-1999“But God is Not Defeated!” These words, beloved of Canon Ezra Lawiri who died in 1990 in crossfire between Sudan Government and SPLA troops, provide the title of this book which celebrates the centenary (1899-1999), and the life and witness of the Episcopal Church of Sudan.
Contributions are provided by a large number of Sudanese Episcopal Christians, and others committed to the Gospel and the life of the Sudanese Church. They celebrate, not just their own achievements, but the graciousness of God, who has shown his love in Christ, and whose spirit empowers the Sudanese Church today in service and witness.
