Ending Slavery: An Unfinished Business on CMS

Ending Slavery: An Unfinished Business

A resource pack for Citizenship, History & RE

This resource is the result of a collaboration between the Church Mission Society (CMS) and the Citizenship Foundation (CF).

Historically, the Church Mission Society has been involved for over 200 years in the campaign against slavery, injustice and oppression in many parts of the world as part of its wider Christian mission.

The antislavery movement was the first major campaign in Britain to involve ordinary citizens across all classes (as well as the slaves themselves) in the struggle to end an evil practice. As such it is a good example of how change can come about when people work together for a just cause and it is offered in the hope that young people will be inspired and equipped to take a stand against the continuation of slavery and injustice in the world today.

Suitable for KS3 and KS4. The resource can be downloaded for free as a PDF, or purchased for £5.00 as a loose-leaf pack.
